What Happens to My Donations

Your Donations!

When you donate to Goodwill you are putting people to work!

Not only for the donation attendent that accepted your donation, the sorter who sorted all your doantions, the pricers, taggers and  hangers who placed your donations in our retail store, the cashiers, greeters, and workers who help our customers in the store, yes they all have jobs and work  thanks to your donation.  But you donations are so much more!

Goodwill is More Than Just A Store!!

More than 86 percent of Goodwill’s revenue goes directly into providing job opportunities for people with disabilities and other barriers to employment. Goodwill Industries – Big Bend is continually expanding services throughout North Florida and South Georgia. The services vary with each location, but each of our Career Training Centers provides counseling, job training, job search assistance and on the job follow-up for anyone needing extra assistance in finding employment. Many individuals who seek our services have disabilities or are medically incapacitated. Others may just lack the skills necessary to secure and keep a job.

For more information on all our programs please look under our MISSION Tab on this website.

Your donations also provide housing for people with disabilities!

Goodwill Residential Services offers 11 totally accessible and affordable apartment complexes for people with disabilities and elderly individuals.

These apartment complexes allow people in wheelchairs and individuals with limited mobility to function independently. Wide doorways, lowered cabinets and roll-in showers are some of the conveniences that make it possible for residents who have disabilities to live without assistance. Some units are specially equipped for people with visual and hearing disabilities. These apartments are subsidized by the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Oakridge Townhouses is an apartment complex for elderly individuals in Tallahassee. It is subsidized by the United States Department of Agriculture-Rural Development.

Please contact Residential Services at 850-576-7145 if you or someone you know may benefit from an accessible apartment.
