Good sense shopping at the Good Cents storeWhat’s cheaper than a Goodwill store? A Goodwill Good Cents store. The Tallahassee Good Cents store offers unsold merchandise from other Goodwill Industries – Big Bend stores at a fraction of Goodwill’s already low prices. Men, women and children’s clothing sells for $1.49 per pound. Shoes are sold for $1.00. Most items sell for between 25 – 75 cents. The store is at 300 Mabry Street, adjacent to Goodwill’s main store. "There is no cheaper place in Florida," says Alex Ewseychik, Manager. "You can save a lot of money compared to normal stores. You can also find some really unique things." Besides clothing and shoes, the store carries toys, books, sports equipment, electronics, purses, belts, hats, kitchen accessories, housewares, furniture and much, much more. These quality items did not sell in other Goodwill stores within their rotation period, so they were sent to Good Cents. Everything in the store is sold as-is. Senior and other discounts do not apply. Fresh merchandise is brought into the store at least twice a day, so there is a constant turnover. Customers wander in from the Mabry Street Goodwill store, but some come to Good Cents everyday. They are individuals shopping for their families, friends or church. Others are dealers or resellers. Some drop by looking for a place to unwind on their way home from work or to meet their friends. Plans are underway to expand the store as well to upgrade its appearance and flow. A promotional campaign may be underway soon, but the store’s biggest promotion is word of mouth. So spread the word to your friends, at work, at church – wherever someone is looking for a bargain. Shopping Good Cents makes good sense. The store is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. and Sunday 12 – 6. |
