Education & Computer Training

Goodwill Industries – Big Bend offers classroom training at no charge to individuals wishing to increase their skills to become more employable.

Leon County Schools Adult & Community Education

Reading, writing and math are just some of the skills taught in Goodwill’s classroom funded by Leon County Schools. Computer skills, interviewing, job search techniques and G.E.D. preparation are taught along with academics to give classroom participants well rounded credentials for satisfying work in the community.

The Adult Basic Education teacher also conducts exercises with the students to develop self-confidence and determination to succeed. Students are encouraged to write affirmations about themselves to develop self-esteem. This class is offered at 300 Mabry Street in Tallahassee. Computer Training Classes

Basic computer classes are offered at 300 Mabry Street in Tallahassee and 3221 East Business Highway 98 in Panama City. The computer classes include typing and other computer basics, Internet navigation and instruction in Word, Excel and other programs. The training is self-paced and instruction is geared to individual need. Participants are encouraged to job search through the Internet and prepare resumes using the computer.

Office Skills Training

Participants in Goodwill’s Gulf Coast Division can train as receptionists, secretaries or administrative assistants through an office skills training program. The training includes both lab work and on-the-job experience at Goodwill. These classes are offered at 3207 East Fourth Street in Panama City.

Employer Services

Goodwill recognizes the importance of economic development and partnering with businesses to provide a dynamic workforce to meet the needs of the changing economy. We provide highly skilled staff to serve the business community through a variety of free services. These include applicant screening and recruitment, retention and advancement training, customized work skills training, tax and hiring incentives, and work site resources and accommodations.

2. Click on "Job Seekers," then "Online learning"

3. Scroll down and click on the link that says "GCF Global Learning"

4.  Student Center is a good place to start - it will provide you with basic info and a list of classes.

5.  To see a course description click on course link, a detail of units in each course will come up when you click start the lesson.
