Wednesday, March 16, 2011- Goodwill Industries- Big Bend, Inc. held an Annual Meeting at FSU’s Turnbull Center to share and celebrate the 2010 year with board members, employees, and community supporters. Mr. Fred Shelfer, President and CEO of Goodwill Industries- Big Bend, Inc., announced that Goodwill had a record breaking year with the number of people served and employed thanks to generous donations and increased sales.

Billy has worked diligently at the Bainbridge Goodwill store since 2004. He is known for his friendliness, especially when meeting new people.
On Thursday, January 27th Billy Simmons was named Bainbridge-Decatur County Chamber of Commerce Man of the Year 2010. Billy, who has cerebral palsy, received a standing ovation while he walked down the steps of the stage after receiving his plaque. His positive outlook on life and signature smile, make him an inspiration to all.
On Friday, February 25th, 2011 Goodwill Industries- Big Bend, Inc. broke ground on a 15 unit apartment complex for people with barriers. The apartment complex will be located at 800 Stephens Court in Perry, FL, just north of the Taylor Senior Citizens Center, on land that was the playground for Gladys Morse Elementary School. Right now it’s a just a dirt construction site but in October 2011 it will be home for 15 families.
